Donny & Marie's sing "I'm a Little Bit Country"

Here's a clip of what is known as the most famous song to come out of the "Donny & Marie Show."  It's called "I'm a Little Bit Country," and demonstrates the two singers' musical genres; Marie was the youngest singer to ever have a number one hit on the country music charts with "Paper Roses" in 1973, whereas Donny sang rock n' roll in his and his brothers' group The Osmonds.  Here's a clip from the episode that they performed the song on.  We hope you enjoy it!

Rodney Dangerfield on the "Tonight Show"

Last night I popped in a DVD from my "'Tonight Show' starring Johnny Carson" box set and watched an episode from when Rodney Dangerfield was a guest. Between 1969 and 1980 Rodney was featured on the "Tonight Show" 34 times, and it's really no wonder; he and Johnny had a great dynamic.  Rodney always brought a stand-up routine to open up his shows, but the best parts were during his interviews.  Well, I wouldn't even call them interviews. They were always more of a pin-balling, comedic duet.  For every question that Johnny asked was a five-minute-long comedy routine that barely skimmed the surface of the question.  It almost feels as if they rehearsed the questions before the show, but we can attribute our laughter to their comedic genius.

Here's a clip of the two at their very best.  Enjoy!

Rodney wins an Oscar!!! Madison edition...

If the first part of the statement were true would the late great Rodney Dangerfield have anything to gripe about?  Would his entire bit become a sham or would he have to come up with a whole new routine about having respect and not knowing how to respond to it?

Either way, the good folks at the Wisconson State Journal in Madison, Wisconsin, have unofficially granted Rodney with the Best Actor and Best Film Oscar Madison awards for his part in "Back to School."  While the main criteria for being nominated and winning was that the films had to be filmed in Madison, Wisconsin this was an iconic film in its time.

In any event, Rodney you've finally gotten your respect.

Honoring Rodney Dangerfield

Comedy Central paid tribute to the late Rodney Dangerfield.  Still up are the video clips sharing fond memories from friends and fellow comics.  The homage once in a lifetime is the true description of this legendary figure.

Bob Saget Talks About Rodney

In a recent interview in a Philly newspaper, Bob Saget weighed in on the death of hero and close friend Rodney Dangerfield.

"His funeral was three hours of all of us getting up and talking about the guy. A sad and meaningful experience for all of us. I would imagine it was interesting to see that much talent in one room, but it was amazing because nobody was thinking about that.

His son Brian, Harry Basil, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, and I were the pallbearers. It was one of those moments where we were all just sad. Burying the hero. The king of one-liners."

Saget known most for his role on "Full House" and more recently in the underground comedy clubs as a truly "dirty comedian."

The New Rodney Dangerfield

There's a new Rodney Dangerfield in town; well, I don't think that's entirely accurate. After all, who could possibly substitute the wacky and somewhat questionable comedy Rodney performed for so many years, on and off the big screen.

According to a press release, which has made its way around the European news wire, Rapper and soon-to-be actor Big Boi, recognized most for his work in the  hip hop duo Outkast, will be the star of a new movie called Who's Your Caddy. Big Boi's role will be similar to that of Rodney Dangerfield's, in what I will argue is one of the funniest movies of all time, Caddyshack.

What I'm wondering is, who will play Bill Murray's role in Who's Your Caddy, which sounds like a new, "pimped out" version of Caddyshack. Any guesses?
